Skechers Forced to Pay Millions for Shoe Ads

Posted: Updated:

Skechers is now forced to pay $40 million to settle charges with the Federal Trade Commission over its shoe ads.

And you can get a piece of the settlement.

It's all over claims its shape-ups shoes would help people lose weight and strengthen muscles are unfounded.  The FTC says ads for the resistance runner shoes claimed people who wear them could increase "muscle activation" by up to 85 percent for posture-related muscles.

The Commission says Skechers falsely represented that clinical studies backed up the company's claims about its toning shoes.

If you purchased shape-ups or tone-ups here's how you can get a refund.
