Vt. Town Considers Master Plan for Trails

Posted: Updated:
FAIRFIELD, Vt. -

Residents in a Vermont town are working on a master trail plan for walking and bicycling.

A public meeting in Fairfield has been scheduled for Wednesday, May 30, at 6 p.m. at the town hall.

Some of the trails would be located on existing roads. Others would be on roads not currently maintained by the town. And others would be on ancient roads. They appear on older town maps, but the town has little information about them.

The St. Albans Messenger reports the project is being funded by a grant the Northwest Regional Planning Commission received from the federal Department of Energy to improve air quality in the area.
