DERBY, Vt. -
Monday night, the Derby Selectboard voted against a controversial wind project in Derby, Vt. on the Canadian border.
Two were opposed to the project, 1 was undecided and another was for the project. They needed at least a 3 person majority for it to be approved and to move forward.
Two 300 foot high turbines would stand on farm fields. The developer says the turbines would provide green electricity to more than 2,000 homes.
The town says they will hire a lawyer and talk to the Public Service Board to see how to move forward.
