Vermont State Police Investigating Vehicle Theft in Newbury VT

NEWBURY, Vt. -

Vermont State Police are investigating a vehicle theft in Newbury, Vt. Sunday.

Police say, Craig Smith, 47, told them he heard and then saw someone start his 1996 GMC pickup and drive away with it, west on Route 302 toward I-91.

The pickup had a Vt. registration and license plate number of BLY593. Smith told police there was a 100 gallon fuel tank, tools and a Husquvarna rancher chain saw in the bed of the vehicle.

After searching the area, police said, they were unable to locate the vehicle.
