Burlington Police are investigating a stabbing that happened early Sunday morning on Lower Church Street.More >>
A single car accident has knocked out power to the traffic lights at the intersection of I-189 and Shelburne Rd.
Burlington Police say Philip G Henry of South Burlington, was traveling west on I-189 when he drove up the curb between a light pole and sign, striking an electrical box that is dedicated to the traffic signals for that intersection.
Henry continued through the intersection in front of Buffalo Wild Wings, and crashed into a parked vehicle pushing that vehicle into another parked car. Henry was transported to Fletcher Allen Health Care and then arrested for driving under the influence second offense.
At this time the traffic signals are still down and temporary stop signs are in place at the intersection. BPD says to expect heavy delays in the area for the next 24-48 hours while repairs are made. They ask all motorists to proceed with caution through the intersection.
