The state of Vermont needs to clean house, so to speak. Think Auction Hunters, Green Mountain State style.
It's called the State of Vermont Surplus Vehicle Auction, it includes everything the state no longer uses. That means old state police cruisers, v-trans dump trucks, boats, busses, and plows.
There's about 75 vehicles in total, and all of it has to go. There was an auction preview on Friday afternoon.
"Today you'll see people coming in, and they actually get the chance to start the vehicles, kick the tires, take a look at the inspection reports, and see if tomorrow they want to come back and hopefully buy something," Ed von Turkovich said.
The auction is Saturday, May 12, from 8 a.m. to 10 a-m. It's at the VTrans garage, on Route 302, across from Wayside Restaurant. The state hopes to raise up to $600,000.
