HYDE PARK, Vt. -

Three people were arrested in Hyde Park, Vt. for simple assault and unlawful restraint.

Vermont State Police say, three members of the Hyde Park Fire Station, Sydney Mclean-Lipinski, 25, of Hyde Park, Vt., Joshua Kapusta, 24, of Morrisville, Vt., and Nate Jobe, 21, of Hyde Park, Vt., planned and conducted a practical joke against a juvenile who was associated with the fire station.

Their plan was to lure the juvenile from the fire station by telling the juvenile they needed to setup for training. Police say, when the juvenile arrived, they planned to ambush him and shoot him with airsoft guns, wrestle the boy to the ground, and restrain him with handcuffs and ropes. They would then leave him in a remote part of the town of Eden, Vt.

The three were able to lure the juvenile to the station and ambush him. After shooting the juvenile with airsoft guns, causing minor injuries, the three suspects tried to tackle the juvenile and put handcuffs on him. The juvenile was able to escape and run away.

The three are due in Lamoille County Superior Court at the end of May.

The name of the juvenile victim, and any identifying information, is being withheld, per policy. Police did not release arrest photos for Joshua Kapusta.
