BURLINGTON, Vt. -
Staff members at the University of Vermont are petitioning the Vermont Labor Relations Board to hold a union election.
A press release said, the union is trying to organize about 1,500 UVM staffers who do not currently have Union representation.
A spokesman for the Vt. Chapter of the NEA said, the petition will cover more than half of those workers.
A second petition covering the rest is expected to be filed later.
