Update: Stabbing Suspect Still At-Large

BURLINGTON, Vt. -

Burlington Police are searching for a man wanted in a stabbing.
They say 26-year old Anthony Davis stabbed another man while two young children were home.
Now, they need your help to catch Davis.

Police were responding to a domestic disturbance call when they arrived and found the bloody scene.
They say the man they're looking for, Anthony Davis, showed up to his ex-girlfriend's home and found her there with a new boyfriend, that's when things turned violent.

It was after a woman living in Burlington's Franklin Square Apartment Complex saw blood smeared on her neighbor's door and what sounded like an argument inside, that she called police.  When they arrived early Tuesday morning, they say they found a man who had been stabbed in the hand with a knife. "Initially, responding officers found a significant amount of blood," Andi Higbee of the Burlington Police Department said.

A woman in the apartment had also been assaulted, "Reports were that she was struck by Mr. Davis," Higbee said.

The Davis police are talking about is 26-year old Anthony Davis. They say he was seen running from the apartment. "We are actively, I mean as we speak, searching," Higbee said.

The Franklin Square Resident Manager recognized Davis after seeing his photo, "I'm sitting here and I'm kind of stunned, because he does kind of look familiar," Amanda Bellew said.

Bellew didn't know much more about what happened inside of the apartment or who Davis' ex girlfriend is, but said it's normally a quiet and safe neighborhood. "I'm shocked, I'm just in shock," Bellew said.

Unfortunately police say this incident isn't rare, just recently there's been an up tick in the number of violent crimes, involving knives.

"I'd like to involve the public, in doing whatever they can to help us try to find Mr. Davis in a safe manner," Higbee added.

If you have any information, contact police. And because children were in the home at the time of the crime, Higbee said Davis could be facing additional charges.
