BURLINGTON, Vt. -
A man involved in a motor vehicle crash resulting in a pedestrian fatality back in February has been charged.
Police say, Michael Sears, 60, of Shelburne, Vt. Has been charged with negligent operation.
If convicted of this misdemeanor he faces imprisonment of not more than year or fined no more than $1,000, or both.
A civil ticket was also issued for the violation of failure to yield to a pedestrian, Bruce Lapointe, 63, of Winooski, Vt. in a crosswalk. The crash occurred in the area of Colchester Avenue and Barrett Streets in Burlington.
Sears will appear in Chittenden District Court on May 10.
