Shopping Comes Back to Life in the Upper Valley

WEST LEBANON, N.H. -

Linda Chase is back doing what she loves.

"Well hello sweetheart! How are you," said Chase?

Working at JCPenny in West Lebanon, New Hampshire.

Chase has worked at the West Leb store for more than five years.

But after Irene came through in August she quickly found herself without a job.

That's because this entire plaza found itself underwater.

A sight that chase says still haunts her.

"I sat in the parking lot and cried," said Chase.

Friday that all changed.

After more than eight months the retail giant is back open for business.

The re-opening looked more like Black Friday hundreds of antsy shoppers lined up for hours.

"Geez everybody picked themselves up by the bootstraps and got all together. I was just waiting for this day," said Andrea Follensbee.

JCPenny had some company GAP and Moe's Southwest Grill opened Friday too.

Recently K-Mart did as well.

As for chase, she couldn't be happier.

"I just think it's beautiful," said Chase!

Now Chase and many others have a reason to smile again in West Leb.
