GUILDHALL, Vt. -

The Essex County Sheriff's Department in Vermont responded to a burglarized residence in Gilman, Vt.

Police say someone had entered the garage of the residence of Leon Lashua Tuesday and stole multiple car engines, transmissions, the front end of a Jeep, an air compressor, lift arms from a hydraulic life and several other items.

During their investigation, police say, Francis Brundle, 24, of Lancaster, N.H., was seen leaving Leon Lashua's driveway Wednesday night in a 1997 Green Chevy truck. The truck belonged to Brundle.

Brundle and his friend Michael Hicks, 29, of Groveton, N.H., brought the engines and transmissions to Stockleys Trucking in Lisbon, N.H. Where they sold them for cash. Police say they then tried to dispose of the remaining items.

Additional items stolen from Lashua's home was found and recovered on a 4 wheel drive trail off of South St. In Littleton, N.H.

Both were taken into custody and the items were recovered. An early estimate of the value of the items stolen is over $5,000.

Brundle and Hicks are due in court in St. Johnsbury, Vt. In mid June.
