Plattsburgh Rite Aid Remains Open Following Crash

Posted: Updated:
PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. -

A Plattsburgh drug store stayed open Wednesday, even after a woman took the term "drive-thru" a little too far.

Police say a 69-year old, West Chazy woman pressed the gas pedal instead of the brake.

This happened at Rite Aid on Cornelia Street around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.

There was significant damage to the building.

Amazingly, there were no injuries, and the driver said she didn't need treatment.

"A lot of big pane glass windows came down and she had some significant front end damage to her vehicle, so, she she was pretty lucky," Sgt. Kevin Riley said.

Riley says the driver will not be ticketed.  The store opened up a side entrance, so no customers were turned away.
