Vermont Receives Grants for Community Health Centers from Affordable Care Act

President Obama's Affordable Care Act will give Vermont $2,235,576 in grants for community health centers.

 

According to a press release, the grants will allow Vt. to serve approximately 3,300 new patients.

"President Obama's health care law is making community health centers in Vermont stronger," said Secretary Sebelius. "For many Americans, community health centers are the major source of care that ranges from prevention to treatment of chronic diseases.

 

The grant gives the Community Health Centers of The Rutland Region, Inc in Bomoseen, Vt., $1,361,908 and Northern Counties Health Care, Inc. in St. Johnsbury, Vt., $874,668.

The press release says, this funding will support renovation and construction projects, boosting health centers' ability to care for additional patients and creating jobs.
