BURLINGTON, Vt. -

Hundreds of people walked through Burlington Saturday to raise money and awareness for Multiple Sclerosis.

The annual walk began and ended at Burlington High School Saturday morning.

Participants took part in either a three or six mile walk.

MS is a disease that affects a lot of Vermonters, organizers say 1 in 400 suffer from the central nervous system disorder.

The event's organizer says it's great to see a lot of people coming together to find a cure for MS.

"It touches my heart. My brother has been diagnosed with MS so to see all this support today it makes me feel very, very special and blessed," said MS Society in Vermont director Adele Forbes.

ABC 22 & FOX 44 sponsored Saturday's event.

Chief Meteorologist Kerrin Jeromin was the host and a number of ABC 22 & FOX 44 News personalities took part in the walk.

MS walk organizers say the event brought in $70,000 dollars.
