There is an effort to make sure first responders all across Vermont are trained to spot potentially dangerous meth labs.
A male driver, whose license is suspended, led a Vermont State Police Officer on a chase Tuesday afternoon.
According to police, when Officer Richard Ostrout attempted to pull over Justin Welch, 29, of Topsham, Vt. elude this officer by traveling at excessive speeds up to 80 mph and passing vehicles on corners.
The pursuit lasted about 4 minutes, covering 3 miles.
Welch was charged with Careless and Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Attempting to Elude a Police Officer and Excessive Speed. Police say, numerous civil tickets were also issued to him.
