RUTLAND, Vt. -
A car crashed into the United Methodist Church Wednesday, killing the driver.
According to police, a car crashed into the front steps of the church. The driver, Christopher L. Loso, 22, of Proctor, Vt. and Las Vegas, Nev., was unresponsive when medical personnel and police arrived.
Rutland Fire Fighters used the "Jaws of Life" to remove Loso. After removing Loso from the car and initiating advanced life support at the crash scene, he was transported to Rutland Regional Medical Center. He was later pronounced dead by the attending Emergency Department Physician.
Police are still investigating the crash and are waiting for autopsy results from the medical examiner.
Alcohol is considered to be a factor in the crash, police say.
