BURLINGTON, Vt. -

26-Year-Old Simone Williams sat in a Burlington courtroom Monday on a mission to stare down the woman accused of cutting half of her face.

Burlington police say this woman, 25-year-old Tatiana Horton, stabbed Williams outside a Burlington bar.

Williams sat near her mom, Lydia Diamond in court; it's an action her mother didn't think was possible 24 hours ago.

"Her whole face was open," said Diamond.

Police say around 2 Sunday morning Williams got into a fight with her cousin, Tanisha Tyler outside of RJ's.

During the scuffle, police say Horton pulled out a knife and slashed Williams from her ear to nearly her mouth.

She was taken to a hospital.

And when Diamond arrived she was overcome by a variety of emotions.

"Just was afraid, scared, and angry. I couldn't believe that these girls had done this to my daughter," said Diamond.

Sunday night police arrested Horton and Tyler.

Horton pleaded not guilty to three felonies and Tyler to a misdemeanor.

"I'm glad they're locked up and I hope that they book is thrown at them," said Diamond.

Tyler was released from jail and bail was set for Horton at $5,000 dollars.

Both Horton and Tyler are due back in court next month.

Police say they don't think there will be any more arrests.
