I have been a member of an active family, with teenaged kids, dogs, and cats. I enjoyed all of them and even play with cats when I can! I was surrendered here on June 16 because they no longer had the time and attention to give me that they knew I deserved. I like people but when I first meet them, I give a HUGE bark and it takes me a couple of minutes to make up my mind about saying hello. This can be worked on by introducing me to lots of people and asking them to give me treats when they first meet me. It will take time and patience. I learned some basic obedience in my first home and know how to Sit and Come but I need to have someone teach me polite leash manners. I also have a lot of energy and will need a home with someone who has time and likes to get outdoors! Apartment living and TV watching . . . not so much. I can go home with kids of any age but a note of caution for you parents out there: I'm not crazy about being touched a lot or closely hugged and handled so if you have young kids you are going to be doing A LOT of supervising us!
Take me home from the Rutland County Humane Society.
