Jenny Day is a videojournalist who joined Fox44 News in March 2012. Where did you grow up?
San Diego, California.
Where did you go to school?
I received my degree from San Diego State University. I majored in Broadcast Journalism and minored in Spanish.
Where have you worked previously?
Prior to making the move to Vermont, I was working as a reporter/anchor for KAWE in Bemidji, Minnesota. It's a great little town in the north with a lot to explore!
What is the most challenging story you've ever done?
I've covered murders, politics, the economy and trekked into the woods for a story on black bears, but the story that sticks out the most is about a tornado that ripped through a small town in Minnesota. I came across a family who was searching through the rubble for anything recognizable, and though there was little left, they were still smiling. It was a challenging, but incredibly inspiring story to cover.
What are your favorite hobbies?
Spending time with family and friends. Traveling, cooking, fishing, skiing, and volunteering with the American Cancer Society.
What's your favorite sports team?
Chargers, Padres, Aztecs!
What's your favorite book?
I'm a fan of true crime stories... any good thriller.
What's your favorite food?
Seafood. I really love all different types of cuisines though; it's great to be in an area with so many different restaurants!
What is one thing you would put on a "bucket list?"
I'd love to see South America because my dad grew up in Peru... I speak Spanish and love the Latin culture.
Other facts about Jenny:
I truly love the career path I've chosen. It's a privilege and an honor for me to tell people's stories, so if you ever have a story idea, I'd love to hear from you!
