Hunting Accident Leads to More Charges

Posted: Updated:

A Pennsylvania man is facing additional charges from a hunting accident last month. The accident cost a Granby, Vermont man part of his leg.

Police said 46-year-old John Boppel shot Calvin Noble while Noble was sitting on a stump. Boppel said he thought he was shooting at a bear.

Boppel was initially charged with reckless endangerment.  But Essex County State Attorney Vincent Illuzzi filed an additional assault charged against Boppel.
