Teachers in Rutland Town will return to the picket line Wednesday morning. Teachers say it'll happen all this week before school starts, hoping to send a message to the school board.
On Tuesday morning, about two dozens teachers held protest signs in the rain.
Teachers say they're currently working under imposed conditions that includes a 0% salary increase. They say they hope to negotiate a multi-year deal.
The President of the Rutland Town Education Association, Jodi Manning, said they're even willing to keep this year's pay, as is, if there's a salary increase for the future.
"Oh, it's incredibly frustrating and stressful and it's not at all what we want to be spending our time on, we want to in school thinking and working with students," Manning said.
FOX 44 did reach out to the school board's attorney, John Faignant. He said they too would like to see a multi-year deal.
But the two sides seem to be at odds over whether that would include this school year.
A board meeting is scheduled for June 8.
